Built around a relaxed lo-fi house rhythm and intimate, layered vocal harmonies, Weekend celebrates the pleasure of having nowhere to be. Its recurring refrain, “I love it when there's nothing to do at the weekend / and it's just me and you,” captures the contentment of two people spending an unhurried weekend together. With its warm electronic textures and understated dance-pop sensibility, the track embraces the joy of missing out.
